• Multipotent: stem cells that can be manipulated into various specialised cells that create either the endoderm, mesoderm or ectoderm parts of a human foetus

• Unipotent: stem cells that can be manipulated into a single mature cell type of the body such as skin cells, blood cells, muscle or bone
